New Hall
University of St. Andrews
North Haugh
Fife KY16 9XW
One of the places where we stayed during our golf vacation in Scotland in Summer 2008 was the New Hall at the University of St. Andrews in St. Andrews, Kingdom of Fife.
The University of St. Andrews is the oldest university in Scotland and the third oldest university in Great Britain. The New Hall was located at the North Haugh of the University of St. Andrews.
The New Hall was a popular accommodation choice among golfers as it was only a few meters away from the famous golf courses of St. Andrews Links aside from its own private parking. The New Hall was also less than ten minutes walk from the historic center of St. Andrews.
The New Hall offered a three-star bed and breakfast accommodation. All the bedrooms at the New Hall were en-suite rooms. The room that we got has a double bed, toilet and shower. The room was not that big for two persons but it was fine.
We stayed at the New Hall for five days and four nights with breakfast. The New Hall had a big dining hall enough to accommodate a lot of people. Breakfast was buffet with a lot of choices.
During the time of our stay at the New Hall, there was no internet connection at the room but when I checked its Website today, it now has internet access.
People at the reception of the New Hall were nice too. Despite the small room and the lack of internet access considering that it was located in a university, their hospitality compensated its shortcomings.
